October at IFM Synergy: fresh MCAS reading and a free academic chapter
Hello IFM Synergy Subscribers,
October is here, and I've been busy at the keyboard. Several new MCAS articles are now live on IFM Synergy, and I'm excited to share them with you.
If you've ever felt like your body was reacting to everything, or you've been told "your tests are normal" while your symptoms say otherwise, mast cell activation syndrome may be part of the picture. It's one of the most overlooked conditions I see, which is exactly why I wrote about it.
What's new this month
Fresh MCAS articles. I've added several new pieces to the blog covering MCAS in plain language: what it looks like, why it's so often missed, and what you can do about it. You can browse them all here: Read the MCAS articles
My book is now on Amazon. MCAS: Epidemic in Plain Sight is now available, and I'm grateful for the response so far. I wrote it for both patients and clinicians who want a clear, practical guide to a condition that deserves far more attention. Get your copy on Amazon
A free academic chapter, on me. If you'd like a taste of the book before buying, I'm offering a free academic chapter. It's a good place to start if you want the science behind the symptoms. Download the free chapter
Why this matters
MCAS can look like a dozen different problems: flushing, hives, stomach trouble, brain fog, fatigue, reactions to foods or scents. When no one connects the dots, people can spend years searching for answers. My hope is that these articles and the book help you feel seen, informed, and better prepared for conversations with your care team.
One small ask
If the book or any of the articles help you, would you consider leaving a review on Amazon or sharing the blog with someone who might need it? It helps more people find reliable information.
And if this newsletter speaks to you, please forward it to someone who may find it interesting. A friend, a family member, or a colleague who has been searching for answers might be glad you thought of them.
Thank you for reading and for being part of this community. As always, luck favors the prepared bold.
Warmly,
Yoon Hang Kim, MD
